Ingredients

Bread Options
  • 2 slices brioche, sourdough, or white bread thick-sliced preferred
Cheese Choices
  • mozzarella, provolone, Monterey Jack, brie, or goat cheese mixing cheeses recommended
Blueberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries pat dry if using frozen
Optional Sweet Additions
  • honey, maple syrup, or blueberry jam optional drizzle
Butter
  • 1 tbsp softened butter for spreading
Garnish (Optional)
  • thyme, mint, lemon zest, powdered sugar optional finishing touches

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

  1. Butter the outside of each bread slice generously for golden, even browning.
  2. Add a thick layer of cheese inside the sandwich. Mixing cheeses gives the best melt and flavor.
  3. Scatter fresh blueberries over the cheese. Lightly press a few so they burst slightly.
  4. Drizzle honey, maple syrup, or spread a bit of blueberry jam inside if desired for added sweetness.
  5. Cook on medium-low heat for 3–4 minutes per side until bread is golden and cheese is fully melted.
  6. Slice diagonally and garnish with herbs, blueberries, or a honey drizzle. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use low heat for perfect melt without burning the bread. Fresh blueberries work best for texture. Air fry leftovers for 2–3 minutes to re-crisp.
