Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can chickpeas 15 oz, drained, rinsed, and patted dry
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp BBQ seasoning homemade or store-bought
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • salt to taste
Optional Homemade BBQ Seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • cumin and cayenne pinch, optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Dry the chickpeas thoroughly with a paper towel to ensure crispiness.
  3. In a bowl, toss chickpeas with olive oil, BBQ seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, and salt until well coated.
  4. Spread the chickpeas on the baking sheet in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap.
  5. Roast for 25–30 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through. Chickpeas should be golden and crisp.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool on the tray. They’ll continue to crisp as they cool.

Notes

These chickpeas are best eaten the day of for maximum crunch, but can be stored at room temp for up to 4 days. Reheat in oven if they soften. Try variations like taco, ranch, or sweet & spicy by swapping spices.
