- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan or small baking dish with parchment paper.
- Mash the banana in a bowl until smooth.
- Whisk in the egg until fully combined.
- Add the cocoa powder and mix until smooth. Batter will be thick.
- Pour into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Add optional toppings now.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes or until the center is just set and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Cool completely before slicing for the best fudgy texture.
Notes
To make vegan, use a flax egg (1 tbsp ground flax + 3 tbsp water, set 10 min). Add-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or a swirl of nut butter can elevate the flavor. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
